ROOM VECTORS

In class we learned that a vector has both distance and direction. For example, if you were to ask for the location of a classroom, twenty feet away would only give you half the story. But if someone were to tell you it was twenty feet south, that would be a vector. Vectors can be short or long, complicated or simple. Look at the following table for examples.
VECTORS

3 inches higher
10 miles west
two steps back
NOT VECTORS

under your feet
6 feet 1 inch
over there
For this assignment, you need to map out at least ten items in your room. Pick a location, such as the center, a doorway ,or corner of the bed, and plot both the distance and direction from that point. You may use the face of a clock for direction - for example, 12:00 would be right in front of you, 6:00 would be behind you, 3:00 would be on your right and 9:00 would be on your left. You could also use the points of a compass. For each item, tell how far it is away and the direction.
